An STD Help Community

So i've had this, what looks like, a wart on my scrotum for about maybe 6 months now. It's just about right at the base of the shaft if not a little lower. I've been doing so reading and research on the internet and so far have not found an answer to my question. I'm going to have an STD screening anyways but until then I want to know if it could possibly be genital warts? Can you have a wart in your nethers and it just be a simple wart? I think it came about the same time I also had a wart on my finger surface. I used to have warts, not genital warts, when I was a kid and had them removed. That was when I was about 16 but haven't really had any since then. I've looked for pictures of genital warts but they are all severe cases and this is just one wart. I haven't been sexually active sine April of 2010 but I know that it can take some time for these things to surface. Can anybody help me out?

Warts on the genitals are almost always caused by HPV. It's such a very common disease.

It could be something else but in most cases it's a symptom of a low risk strain of HPV. I would get it looked at and removed. Your doctor will probably be able to diagnosis it with a simple visual test.
