Hello, I've got a question about how long until an infection shows up. I had 2 accidents at weekend, one rubber split, second was a drunken error.

Being female the first obvious problem has been dealt with already but if I go to the clinic to get tested today (monday) would anything show up yet or would i get an all clear and problems arise later?!!?
I know the more serious ones should be retested 3months later but how about more common sti/std's.

Help I don't know whether to book an appointment this week next week next month. When!?!? :dunno:

Being the person I am I would do both. Most tests are pretty accurate after a short period of time but most docs will still recommend further testing. Also many times if you think you have say chlamydia or gonorrhea they will treat you first and ask questions later.

When getting the test remember that most places don't test for herpes unless you ask. So ask for a type specific test so you know if you have genital or just the mouth ones that many people already have.

So the answer I guess is go as soon as possible and follow the instructions of the doctor.
