An STD Help Community

It has been 48 hours, and the only person I have told is my recent ex. I am afraid to tell anyone, and face the pity, disgust and/or disapproval of friends and family. I am trying very hard to deal with this in a quiet, mature way....but I am so afraid of how people will react, and of what this means to me for the rest of my life. I could really use some advice and support...and the contact info for a good STD counselor in NC. Thanks.

Well first off it will be OK. A lot of people have Herpes and you don't know it. You don't have to tell everyone if you don't want to. Be responsible and tell the people that need to be told but your friends and family don't need to know unless you want them to.

Like most things, over time it will seem like less and less of a big deal.
